Lynne (Gollus) Jeffris says
Vickie rice beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was graced with many gifts and talents. Her Love of cooking and food endeared her to many beyond just her family. But it was her spirit of entertainment through singing and acting that showed off her special gifts. As a young child she was in several Productions on the Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan Illinois. As an adult she participated in a group in Memphis Tennessee which performaned for various churches and nursing homes in the area. Vicki and her husband Bob thoroughly enjoyed putting together vignettes and songs along with their special comedic touches and creative costumes. After her beloved husband Bob passed almost three years ago, Vicki continued to participate in this group, singing solos and performing. Her interests included learning the recorder and performing alongside Bob. She was perfecting her ceramics creations almost entirely to make gifts for others, while perhaps her biggest passion maybe 25 years has been to give of herself to her church, Ellendale United Methodist Church. This church was her love and passion and her Pastors and myriad friends and acquaintances have sustained her. Vicki taught Sunday School classes, participated in adult Bible study, Prison ministery, singing in the choir, decorating bulletin boards for all church special occasions, and planning shopping and cooking for the Wednesday night dinners. Her participation in KYROS and her unwavering faith guided and sustained her.
It goes without saying that Vicki’s family, both siblings but most importantly her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her life’s most shining moments. We believe that Vicki truly rests in the arms of God’s Loving care, free from care, and, still is guiding her loved ones from above. We love you Vicki.
